    When was SLS established and what kind of operation and functions do we perform Worldwide? When was Mongolia established ?

    SLS Bearings was established in 1963 and headquartered in Singapore. The company which stared with three staff, and now after almost 50 years of operation, has a staff strength of more than 1300 people throughout Singapore, East Malaysia, West Malaysia, Indonesia, China and Mongolia.

The following interview is with the director of the company Rick Fecowicz.

    We understand that Carhartt is now officially in Mongolia. Can you give us brief introduction?

    Carhartt is a 123 year old, family owned company. It is based in Detroit, Michigan and now managed by the fourth generation of the Carhartt family. Carhartt has its own wholly owned factories in Kentucky and also in Mexico. Carhartt manufactures approximately 60 percent of our apparel in our own factories.

    It is no surprise that relations and cooperation between Mongolia and Germany have been  developing in many streams, including in the mineral sector, successfully. People of the two countries have known each other for many years. Occupying Europe in the 1240s, Chinggis Khaan’s grandson, Batkhan, did not attack Germany after an exchange of letters with the German Emperor, Friedrich II. In more modern times, many German travellers and expeditions visited Mongolia, and their accounts and memoirs attracted the attention of German scholars for specific research on Mongolia. 
  • “Future Mongolia” is now less than four months away. It will be the biggest expo for mining and construction equipment and technology in the country. Stephan Fischer, CEO of the company organizing the event, talks about how he plans to make the expo a place offering opportunities to all and why the mining technology market in Mongolia is so attractive.

    Could you please say a few things about yourself first?
    I would prefer not to talk too much about my person, but to give you some background information about the organizers of FUTURE MONGOLIA. VF Messen Gmbh is a joint company of Swiss and German experts in the field of international exhibitions.
  • Norihiko Kato, recently appointed Acting CEO of Khan Bank, describes in this interview how the bank plans to grow, in sync with the Mongolian economy.

    Please begin by telling us something about your career.
    I was appointed Acting CEO of Khan Bank last November, but this is not my first time here. I worked with Khan Bank for 8 months in 2009 and 2010, first as an advisor then as managing director, wholesale banking. That was a good experience. My career started with Bank of Tokyo, Japan, where I worked for 28 years, in places like Tokyo, New York, Amsterdam and Bahrain. I am happy to be here and see it is a great opportunity.
